Introduction

Are you interested in knowing what is the latest news regarding the future version of ISA Server ? many people were calling it ISA Server 2008 or even ISA Server 2009. Well, Its no more called like this, Microsoft announced the new name for ISA Server which is Forefront Threat Management Gateway, and it is now available for the public in a Beta version to start testing it

On April the 8th - 2008, Microsoft announced the name of its next-generation network edge security product, Forefront Threat Management Gateway. Forefront Threat Management Gateway is the future version of Microsoft ISA Server and will extend the capabilities of ISA Server 2006 with new features and security technologies, designed to help provide multiple-threat protection, simplified management and secure connectivity, and will be built on Windows Server 2008. As you can see, Forefront Threat Management Gateway can be only installed on Windows Server 2008 64bit operating system, and can not be installed on a 32bit OS. So if you are planning to purchase new servers, its the right time to invest in a 64bit hardware, specially that Windows Server 2008 is the last server operating system that will support 32bit architecture.
